Industrial plastics are not the easiest thing to sell online. The products have technical specifications that customers actually care about: density, tensile strength, temperature ranges, chemical resistance. And then you need to be able to buy them in exactly the right dimension, with prices calculated from measurements and material type.
Odoo's standard e-commerce is built for simpler products. A jumper in three sizes. A pair of shoes in different colours. Not a POM rod with tolerances and density classes.
We solved it by building our own module suite. ARC Industrial Suite, as we call it internally. It handles technical data sheets, dynamic attributes, material categories and a cut-to-size calculator that computes prices based on exact measurements.
The result is a catalogue with around 20,000 products that customers can actually navigate and order from. No PDF catalogues to be emailed around. No "call for price" messages. Just a working e-commerce for technical products.
